The Apprenticeship role is designed as a time-limited contract opportunity, with a maximum duration of three years.

As an apprentice during this internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience while working alongside dedicated officers and staff in a busy and supportive police environment. This is your opportunity to develop key skills, earn while you learn, and contribute to the vital work of policing.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Provide administrative and operational support to front-line officers and police staff
  • Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries from the public
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Learn how to use police systems and procedures securely and effectively
  • Support community policing and crime prevention efforts

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • A genuine interest in policing, community safety, and public service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Interest in law enforcement
  • 18 + years of age at the time of application
  • Coursework in criminal justice preferred
  • Valid driver license required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Meet the objectives outlined in the training procedural manual for the apprenticeship program within the set timeframe. 
  • Ability to pass an extensive background investigation. 
  • Valid Driver’s License of the appropriate class.
